Planted PS90SM-B 90 Degree Universal Seat Side Mount – Black Powder Coated Steel
Planted 90 Degree Universal Seat Side Mount – Black Powder Coated Steel – Part # PS90SM-B
The Planted 90 Degree Side Mount is an “L” shaped bracket sold in pairs (1 left and 1 right) used to install side mount seats. Side mount seats have the mounting holes on the side of the seat rather than the bottom, so a Side Mount or similar product is required for installation.
The Planted 90 Degree Steel Universal Side Mount is made from 1/8th inch thick steel which complies with FIA’s required thickness, weighs approximately 5.5 lbs, and is powder coated black. These will fit Side Mount Seats offered by most seat manufacturers and have been tested on Bride, Corbeau, Cobra, Momo, NRG, OMP, Ractech, Recaro, Sabelt, Sparco, Status Racing & Takata. The wider slots allow the Side Mounts to be compatible with most other seat manufacturers as well but not all seat manufacturers have been test fitted. The Side Mounts are made to bolt directly to sliders but have multiple slots for adjustability when direct mounting (eliminating sliders).
90 DEGREE VS OFFSET SIDE MOUNTS
- Planted offers two types of Side Mounts; 90 Degree and Offset. Both types are offered in Aluminum or Steel.
- 90 Degree Side Mounts are the most common type and should be used when the width of the sliders are narrower than the width of the seat so the sliders sit under the seat.
- Offset Side Mounts are less common and should be used when the width of the sliders are equal to or wider than the width of the seat.
- Either 90 Degree or Offset Side Mounts can be used when direct mounting without sliders; however, the 90 Degree Side Mounts are recommended because the overall assembly will be narrower allowing more side to side adjustability.

This Planted Seat Spacer is 1/4 inch thick aluminum powder coated black, and is the length and width of the Recaro Non-tabbed slider. The spacer weighs about 1 lbs total and includes pre-drilled slots so putting them between the slider and the seat bracket is a sinch with some longer hardware. Planted created these spacers to solve an issue with the Recaro Sportster CS, Style, Sport, and Trend seats where the bottom of the seat hangs down lower than the sliders making contact with the bracket. Raising them 1/4 inch solves the issue.
The spacers are also ideal for raising any seat that sits lower then desired and can be used with other major brands of sliders like Sparco & OMP. They can also be used without sliders although in some cases drilling additional holes may be required.
The seat spacer is sold in a pair (enough for one seat).
